c2250 vs c2200

Hi

Merry Xmass for everybody!

Can anyone care to comment the differences between c2250 and c2200?

I do know the c2200 is newer desing than the 2250 but, that doesnt imply better one, or better sonic capabilities.

Afaik c2250 born to replace the klout, and now the c2200 is the little brother of the akurate line (both are dynamicable)

BTW, is the fan in it standar from factor or some linn customs piece?

The 2200 is a LOT better than the 2250. If you want to compare old with new, the 2250 is in the same region as 2100 (the two channel amp in the Majik range) in terms of sound quality. I prefer 2100, but the 2250 can play louder.

I don't think Linn has ever designed any fans, so I'm certain the shape is standard. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

So Fredrik, do you think the non dynamic c2250 could replace my klout(s)? Im using a passive system, but my goal is to reach aktiv in the future.

I have the chance to get 2xc2250 cheaply, but may be better to put a bit more on it and get an used 4200.

What do you think guys?

I much prefer a 2250 to a klout, especially when dynamiked.
The Akurate amps are better again.
If you buy the 2250s, going aktiv will be slightly more "fiddly" either finding original cards or by using adaptors. 2250 does not have chakra technology...but its still a good amp.
A lot depends on the rest of the system!
This question could go on for ever.....should you get a Klimax twin?

I agree that the 2250 is better than Klout. But 2250 is also a bit coloured in sound, which becomes evident when listening to a x100 or x200 amp. I would choose one of them rather than any of the old models.

Also note that apart from aktiv cards, you'll have BFA outputs on the 2250. That may seem like just a detail, but optimally soldered Knekt bananas sound quite a bit better.

I always assumed, for good, that it were part of the chakra crew :(

I also assume, that the "old" psu from cx100 and cx200 that ppl now are selling because of the dynamic upgrade isnt plugable on the 2250, right?

I assume that even non dynamic, the standart psu of the chakra series would better than the one included in the stock 2250.

Nope, it's the same series as the AV5125, and is properly referred to as the "2250" (not C2250 or AV2250).

Yes, at least from a musical perspective. I'm not sure whether the 2250 psu is actually more powerful or not (I know the psu in the AV5125 is less powerful than the dynamik)
