From the forum I got the impression that many have listened to the
Akurate 242 speakers. Mostly combined with recent Linn amps and pres.
Now I am quite tempted to use a good opportunity to get a pair of 242s,
but I'm confused whether or not they will play nicely with my
generation of amp (Klout) which I do not want to dismiss now or very soon.
If there is any experience, good or bad, I would be grateful.
A second concern is, that there seem to exist ten thousand possibilities
to (multi wire multi amp activate combination of these) the speakers.
With one amp, I would have no difficulty to 4- or 5- wire them. But
would it be perhaps worthwhile to use bi-amping? Or is only an active
crossover
a reasonable upgrade? Do those crossovers fit in a Klout at all, or are
they made for the modern generation amps only? I couldn't find any
info at Linn's.
At the moment I feel a bit afraid of this beast because I fear to fiddle
around forever with all these possibilities instead of listening to the
music.....

You can get adapters for the new Chakra aktiv cards which will allow them to fit in Klouts and other older amps.
Several people on the Linn Forums have commented that it's well worth moving to quin-wiring (i.e. each driver has it's own pair of cables from the amp) even if only using one amplifer.
