I’m unsure of what setting you mean. The HD video recommendation I interpreted as referring to when recording.
Anyway, I find there’s interplay in C but not so much in A. So I choose C.

I like them both. A seems slightly more refined and C more alive. I think I'd go with C as well though.

B is dead. A killed it. C just took revenge =:D

Corrected my earlier post - hopefully it makes more sense now.

Can argue that C sounds better while A is more in tune. So A for me,

I thought they both were good initially. But after listening to C and going back to A I found it just wasn't as together. I find C more musical and it has more going on.

C makes no sense to me. With my weird ears, I can only hear lots of sounds which don’t sound particularly well related to one another. A is my preference.

To my ears A seems slightly more musical

I just discovered that the size of the C-file is 3 times bigger... Haven't changed any settings since recording A though, weird.

That sounds superb.
I can't really hear any difference but if you put a gun to my head I'd pick 998 but can't say why other than it feels a bit freer.

The edges of notes seem more sharply defined in 998. Although I'm not convinced that makes for a better clip, I do feel like I'm drawn into the music a bit more on 998, so that's my pick.
But I don't want balls the size of raisins, so maybe it's safer to just say I don't hear a difference. ;-)

998 feels uplifting and more in tune, 997 is a bit depressing.

998 for sure. More swing and swagger. 997 is stiff and stifled.

997 is like Qobuz, 998 like Spotify
I prefer 998
Edit: Considering the "balls":
Maybe 997 is Spotify streaming quality "very high" and 998 is only "high" ???

Agreed, 998 seems to have the edge in the refinement Dept.

Initially 8 felt more approachable but, after going back & forth (more than) a few times, 7 came across as more fun.
7 beat & vocals; 8 flow & tone. If the song is meant to be upbeat then 7 - that's what spoke to me. If it's meant to be more soulful then 8...
They give different insight into the song - with it grey & wet outside, I like the snap of 7, but spoilt for choice between the two.

I'm for 998. Guitar sounds like a better instrument, voice has more "throat" to it and they all seem to be playing together better. If you need to shrink something I'd prefer my prostate! :-D

Maybe its the ringing in my ears from last night's concert (those old guys can still rock) but this one is too hard for me

998 slightly edges ahead. This reminds me of the fact, that I'm still missing this Bobby Womack album :-(
