I found this a bit easier. Playing downloaded files thru Apple TV to Hakai.Offerdal wrote: ↑2022-09-25 08:35 Yes only LP12 moving around. No trampolin. Took the trampolinfeet off the urika and use standard solid base feet.

I prefer L1 and L2. I found K2 sounded a bit harsh thru my playback and had to turn it down a bit.

K1 and K2 for me.
Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I missed the previous clips. Was there a reference bottom on that Harmoni rack (basically an upside down Tor shelf that can’t be used)?
If could have made a wish, I would have made that and then replacing Mimer K with a Tor or a Trud. And definitely using Trampolin feet on all Harmoni shelves.
Regarding K and L, I find K to make more sense. It’s certainly harsher and not sounding as nice, but the pace and interplay feels more solid. In comparison, L is rushing forward as if the musicians have had too much coffee.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Hmm, another opinion splitter! I wonder if there would be more consensus if everyone focused only on the tune playing differences?
Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I think that's what we do, Spannko. :)
Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Clips are a little tricky. I think that in the same room, the opinion splits would be far less.
But we’d probably still have a few interesting divisions. I find those moments extremely valuable. There always something to learn from them.

This is in a nutshell why this forum to me is relevant and so interesting. :-)

Groovin' along to the "L" clips

Charlie1, there is Kaber active with Klout
K= Mana referens table (earlier best mana)
L= Naim Fraim

So, sitting in the room what setup floats your boat? :-)

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Beck: it is quite hard to choose between them in the room. It takes a while to change and it could be bias when I see the tables. Slightly prefer Mana but think there is more to get out of the LP12 setup. Next setup I am really interested in your comments.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I prefer M; it's more musically coherent to me. N might 'sound' better, but is a bit disjointed...
(Previously, I was ok with K, less with L)

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
It took me quite a while to sort these two out! Eventually, I also felt that M had the edge. It was close and difficult for me but it felt like M was slightly more harmonious than N.
The first track had a 1970’s Meters feel to it, but halfway through I picked up another band’s signature but couldn’t quite put my finger on it! Who were they Offerdal please?

I'm not Offerdal, but:
1. Moby - Honey
3. Madonna - Like a Prayer
Google says 2 is Junip - Line of Fire

Thanks tokenbrit. I wonder if it was influenced by this https://open.spotify.com/track/3COOd5x ... 4RCuLS186w

Since Moby "became a prolific figure as a DJ, producer and remixer"¹, it is possible that it was an influence...Spannko wrote: ↑2022-09-28 18:07Thanks tokenbrit. I wonder if it was influenced by this https://open.spotify.com/track/3COOd5x ... 4RCuLS186w

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I vote for M.
While sounding nice, there's something off with the drive and timing on N.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
M was a clear preference with both laptops for clip 2 but I struggled with the other two clips, esp Madonna.
I think I'd have to opt for M simply based on the second clip cos it's a bit of a jumble with N, and besides, M doesn't do anything wrong on clips 1 and 3.
However, there is something I like with N clips 1 and 3, maybe rhythmic drive, not really sure.
I'm interested to know what's what. I'm guessing M is Harmoni rack and N is a Mana rack.
