New Linn Launch 2022

Linn has sent out notice that they will be sending invites to a new product launch April 7th on their Facebook page. While there is no mention of what they will be launching, nor have I heard anything yet of what is coming, the image at the top of the invite certainly makes it look like a digital product with bars made up of 1s and 0s in groups that look like waveforms. Maybe the transition of Organik to a lower range of products?

I heard Linn realised that Källa smokes the Klimax and since they don’t want that market stolen from them they entered into agreement with Fredrik so they can use Fredriks technology … actually it is just the Källa in a Klimax casing.
Name is Klimax Orgazmic K
Price is supposed to be around 45.000Euro to 50.000Euro for early birds and might rise to 55.000 later so be fast to pick one and save 5000 Euro.

No room optimization though and only analogue outputs.

”Linn Organik is growing”. Looks like a small circuitboard. Balanced and unbalanced outputs.

My guess is a Selekt DAC module with ORGANIK.

I say it looks like they are reusing the video from the original Organik launch, only with the added punchline. The module fits in the NGKDSM. To me it’s more likely original KDSM and the Akurate range of product will receive upgrades prior to Selekt.

I agree. I'm pretty sure that is from the original Organik announcement and it looks like the DAC board in the new KDSM. A comparison of the board in the video and one in a photo of the internals of the 2021 KDSM shows an almost identical layout. This Facebook posting wasn't up when I started this thread but does indicate my conjecture was correct.

They have now put a second teaser on Facebook with an Organik DAC board sliding down the production line. It has significant areas without components mounted so it could again be the original board or it could be something different. It is hard to tell but we'll know tomorrow.

I dont think Renew - Renew was never upgradable to those kind of upgrades.

I think the upgrade will buy you a Källa.

Upgrade cost is £5400. I believe if it’s a recent DS/DSM with the new earthing arrangement, it’s a dealer upgrade.

I understand Linn will be asking dealers to carry out an ABC demo i.e. current KDS, upgraded KDS with Organik and NGKDSM. This suggests that the upgraded KDS will not be as good as the NGKDSM perhaps.

Will the original Klimax DS now be Organik by default and at what price point?

I don’t know why I’m asking this though as I don’t really care. :-)
