Re: Latest records to enter your collection
Just added this double vinyl set to my collection, and really like everything about it too. Plus it came with a 7 inch forty five, which sounds really good as well. I listened to all six sides, before shipping out my Entity last week. And once it is returned, I'll listen to all six sides again to see if there is any difference.

Neil Young Crazy Horse, Way down in the rust bucket (four LP's, one DVD, one CD). This could be his best sounding album overall, and his best live album ever!

This is a very nice collection of songs recorded live in London, Manchester and in Missouri.

Re: Latest records to enter your collection
I was finally able pick up two very nice anniversary vinyl box sets from Rush, "Permanent Waves" and "A Farewell to Kings." As it turns out, both box sets sound really musical too. And when time permits, I'll compare the newer recordings with the original recordings (should be interesting).
1) Rush Permanent Waves, containing their original LP, and live performance LP's from London, Manchester and Missouri
during their 1980 World Tour (3 LP set and booklet with unreleased illustrations and photos).

2) Rush "a farewell to kings" containing their original LP, and live performance LP's at Hammersmith Odeon in 1978 (4 LP set,
and 32 page booklet with an extensive essay, art work and photos).

Really enjoying Jamie Saft on Spotify. Was able to get this double album on vinyl and it’s very good.

Too much work to do these one at a time. So here are the new records that have entered my collection over the last couple of weeks.

This is not my latest record but my latest introduction into (to me) unknown music. Just open your ears and smile:

If you like the idea of 3 great musicians sitting around a campfire playing songs, this is the record for you.

Check out the outstanding Decoration Day about 16 minutes into the video:

Re: Latest records to enter your collection
Because the song "Decoration Day" was so brilliant on the live album above, I had to get the original album it appeared on:
Another batch of lp's arrived from Sweden. Until now, I only knew Jackie DeShannon as a songwriter, but recently discovered, that she has made some pretty good albums as well. The others are: Waylon, The Ramblin' Man by Waylon Jennings, a "twoofer" by Fleetwood Mac, joining "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" and "English Rose" as well as a collection by Swedish singer Pugh Rogefeldt (mainly to get access to his first single).

Only one record in recent weeks. Black Pumas!
Thanks to Tony for his posting, listened and ordered immediately. It's a deluxe edition with two 12" records, one gold, the other black/red and a single as shown. The colored sounds really good, the gold one rather less. Although I own other gold pressings that sound good.

You're welcome Hermann, and I'm glad you're enjoying the album (wouldn't want to give a bad recommendation). I thought the same way about the gold LP compared to the red and black LP.
Cheers

After procrastinating for many years I finally decided to add my LPs into my DiscoGS database. This will be updated as time and memory allows (yes, I forget about it!).

Re: Latest records to enter your collection
A good idea! The prices of original pressing have gone through the roof this year. The value of my collection has increased by roughly 16% this year. So, it's important for insurance reasons as well. And make sure your insurance covers the full value of your hifi and collection, very often they don't.vicdiaz wrote: ↑2021-08-08 03:34 After procrastinating for many years I finally decided to add my LPs into my DiscoGS database. Nice Sinatra. Now you make me wonder about getting a 10" original.
