Linn Klimax 350 Aktiv AND Passive Speakers - Withdrawn

For sale , due to an system change of direction are my pair of Linn’s Flagship Klimax 350 speakers , with a bit of a twist ..... :-)

  I bought them a couple of years ago as Original fully Aktive Klimax 350A’s ….. and was very happy with them  ….. until i got itchy upgradeitis and decided i wanted to try something different ….  Passive with Twin or Solo’s i decided ..... I didnt want to change my lovely Cherry 350’s , so i did it by buying a pair of Klimax 350P Passive modules to convert my speakers to Passive operation …. I now have the best of both worlds Linns Flagship 350A Aktiv and 350P Passive Speakers which i can easily change the configuration of , depending on whether i want to use an external power amp or the integrated Aktiv Amps and just stream straight from my DS player …. the ultimate konvertible HiFi system i believe :-)

  The now spare Aktive modules are also complete with their own silver 3k tweeter arrays . And all modules  are original Factory Klimax Dynamic fitted and not earlier artikulate units which have been upgraded .

  I am selling these as a complete package with all the proper Linn packaging for the speakers , the modules and the bases .

  Retail on these was over £30k for the Aktiv version and currently the Passive version is still over £20k on Linn’s current pricelist .

  Also included is an as new pair of 3m XLR Cables to hook them up to your amp or streamer , so no need to go out and buy anything to get up and running .

I can also supply a copy of the Linn Instruction Document with step by step colour instructions on how to swap / change the modules over .... It is really a straight forward matter of swapping eight plugs over .... Linn have really designed them well . 

    So a very flexible package for someone who wants to have the best of both worlds , or if they find their nirvana with A or P then they can sell on the other modules and arrays …. Or keep them as spare .... there are a pair of Aktiv modules currently available and being sold for just under 5k at the moment ……

  So i would say this package is a bit of a good deal .

  Pickup only , I am in Leeds , UK .....or i could possibly deliver for a price agreeable to myself and the buyer ….  payment method can be discussed to suit both parties ….. please come and have a look , you wont be disappointed …. Already i am beginning to wonder if i am making a mistake selling them ..... The could also be a good base for me to go Exact  :D

Just my 2p... I think they are American Cherry, not Rosenut. This is the older type of American Cherry that Linn used, I believe they are now use a different Cherry colour (which is lighter and more pink...?).

Hi Buggi ..... I have just checked the boxes .... I dont know why i hadn't looked before !!! ..... But they are indeed marked as " Cherry " and not the Rosenut (as i thought) or American Cherry , (as you thought) :-)

I was going to post another photo anyway to show the colour better .... i think my original pics may have been a bit over exposed ..... and also to show the Magnetic grilles which are also included .

Just thought I'd mention that the packaging shown in one of your photos is what Linn use to ship them to the US. So you should be OK if they are packed per instructions.

I seem to be getting more requests for either or with this package .

So maybe it will be easier if i split it .

How about £7500 for the Passive speakers .

And £2500 for the Aktiv Modules complete with the 3K arrays .

What do you all reckon ?

I'm a bit hesitant to think about shipping them .... especially overseas .... I hear what you are saying Thomas , but I think Linn would probably be shipping a few of these module boxes at a time .... and they would be probably securely strapped to a pallet or something .

I've shipped quite a bit of Naim gear over the years, including 3 X Naim Nap500 amps (very heavy!) from the UK with no issues. Double boxing is usually enough. Most shippers can make these boxes up, using heavy gauge cardboard, if you wish. I've even seen them use 1/4" plywood. Not that expensive.

I just had my KDS/1 upgraded to a KDSM/3 which required my dealer to send everything to Scotland and back. I sent it to my dealer, double boxed. He then shipped it to Glasgow. Linn upgraded it, and I had it back in my home up, and running within two weeks. That was the second upgrade for it, where it had to go back home.

The passive modules are not that heavy, and Linn packs them pretty well with that u shaped foam thing in the middle. It's actually pretty straight forward.

I hear what you are saying .... But i really wouldnt be happy posting to the USA ... there is a lot of scope for risk in a voyage like that .... with lots of baggage throwers involved .

Yes , Linn may ship them like that .... but i think they would use extra boxes than just the single wall cardboard these are in .

It disappointing to see that you have not sold these. The price seems very favorable to me in the USA, especially with the passive crossovers as an extra.

Now that Linn has come out with their new Exackt-Katakyst product, it should make these a no brainer.

Perhaps you should list these on Audiowoof or eBay in the U.K. I think you would have a better result.

Sorry for the late reply , I am a little puzzled as well ... I do think i have offered the speakers and the Aktiv modules for a good price ... they are both a huge amount of quality kit ... for not a lot of money .

But , thats how it goes i spose ... there is someone out there who wants them ... I have taken your advice and advertised them on Ebay Uk ... and i am getting a few questions / enquiries about them .
