[Sold] Linn Akurate 242's Rosewood
For sale are my Linn Akurate 242 - In rosewood with mk3 spec with upgraded stands. £2750
Previously owned by Cymbiosis (ex-demo) and famous

They are absolutely stunning to look at and listen to but sadly house move is driving me to downsize so I need to sell most of my setup.
I currently use them in an Aktiv setup, but obviously can be used passive.
Pictures as per below. (trying to get some better ones but struggling with my camera/light conditions!)

Re: [IC] Linn Akurate 242's Rosewood
I'd be interested in the stands...
I've got Cherry (with black arrays) 242 mk 2s, but with the original stands. Just outside York myself, so it would be an easy swap if you were interested. I'm not sure how much difference the stands make to the resale price.

Absolutely stunning speakers, I thought everyone loved 242's? :)

But sadly no-one has wanted to pay any money for them since Akubariks (and then Exakt) came out.kg648 wrote:Absolutely stunning speakers, I thought everyone loved 242's? :)
The usual price plummet when a Linn product is superseded.

Hi,
the main problem I have seen is that people keep quoting MK1's and don't realize there is a difference between these and the MK3's. (i.e. posting links from eBay)

Re: [FS] Linn Akurate 242's Rosewood
These are great speakers, with the appropriate source and amp/ preamp. IN my opinion preferable to Akubarik passives - much tighter bass, even if 3 K array not quite as sweet. If I could get them in the loft would keep as a back up to my own!
When I changed from my Ninkas - wow. Who said speakers are the least important bit of the system.

Re: [FS] Linn Akurate 242's Rosewood
If only I had good enough electronics in my other systems. I have sneakys as sources in my other rooms, and 242s deserve and need much better.
The lucky buyer will end up with one of Linns gems, at a ridiculously low price.
Good luck with the move.
