ThomasOK wrote:Very cool room and certainly a hierarchically correct system. But where's the turntable? ;-)
A good point! This is the system in my little flat in London and I rather like it for its minimalist approach. One of the reasons I love DS is I now don't need 1,000s of records and CDs cluttering the place up. They have all been packed off to my weekend place where I now have an MDS-I and am about to set up a turntable - nothing fancy, probably just something from Rega. For now. Clearly it will be a slippery slope...

Yes, doesn't get much cleaner looking than that. Really nice. Kind of Japanese in its simplicity - I can see you there with a cup of green tea listening to something relaxing.

Very nice flat (a la John Pawson).
Did you compare your set-up to the same set-up with preamp (KK?) ?
Funny you should say that... Here is the kitchen in my weekend place... My long term plan is to have a whole house built by John Pawson. Just need to find the plot!
I had a KK/1 up until a couple of months ago. With the Renew it was essential. With the kds/1 I prefer it direct. The sound is possibly a bit thinner but the detail, pace and timing are so good that I can live with that!

Your weekend place is absolutely stunning !
A house built by John Pawson would be my dream as well.
We renovated our house last summer, so I've done more then my share of architecture surfing. If I was building something new and my bugdet was big enough, I would contact Suppose design office. The way they adapt the buildings they create into the environment is nothing short of ingenious.

Make that claret and you're spot on...!
...and I brought a Rioja. Doh!
It was red. It all hits the spot!

Here, finally, are some slightly poor pictures of the system I have in the small snug sitting room next to the drawing room in my weekend place. In the winter I spend a lot of time in here... Also an obligatory shot of the view!

Oh, and an updated photo of the London system now that I am back to the klimax renew. Frees up some cash for, ooh, I don't know - maybe some tundra monos and a lejonklou pre... :)
