General lurker here, great forum by the way, lots of good information!
Firstly, let me tell you my modest set-up
Source: Linn Majik DS (not Dynamik)
Pre-Amp: Lejonklou Kikkin
Amp: Linn LK-140
Speakers: Monitor Sound GS-10
Interconnects: Linn Black interconnects.
I'm now in a position for one substantial upgrade.
Now if I was looking for just one upgrade at this time, surely it would have to be the source first, sell the Majik DS and purchase the Akurate DS.
Or sell the Kikkin pre-amp and Majik DS and purchase the Akurate DSM?
But I have a nagging doubt that should I purchase the Akurate (in whatever guise) I will just have this powered by a LK140 and the music through my GS-10's.
Perhaps I would not notice TOO MUCH of a difference between the two set-ups by, but perhaps it's obvious that of course I would!!!
I would like to upgrade, but I would appreciate any suggestions you fine people may have.
Upgrade advice.

You already own the Kikkin, so ADS makes more sense to me unless you want some of the added functionality of the ADSM.
Not familiar with your amp/speakers. Obviously better playback will allow you to appreciate the musicality more, but in my experience, source musicality always comes through pretty clearly. It's the improved sound quality you miss out most of all.
Certainly if you upgraded to 109 speakers and Majik 2100 amp then that would be more than enough for the ADS/Kikkin. Maybe your existing playback is already fine - not saying you 'need' to replace it.
If you found a 2nd hand or ex-dem ADS through a dealer then you could bring your system along to listen and perhaps evaluate different options. Maybe even borrow an ADS for home dem.
You will need to tune your system properly in order to fully appreciate the improved ADS musicality though. Otherwise, it might just come over as better hi-fi and not really grab you like it should.

Cheers Charlie!
Very close to exchanging my Majik DS and Linn LK-140 plus cash for Akurate 2200 (2005 build) this is to be Dynamiked also.
Also very close to purchasing a Renew DS.
So, it looks like I'll have a Renew DS, Akurate 2200 Dynamiked, Kikkin pre-amp and keeping my Monitor Audio GS10 speakers.
I think I did ok...yeah, yeah I know, I'll be looking at upgrading the speakers next, but that'll have to wait.
