Naim merge with Focal

Post by ThomasOK »

Naim Audio has just merged with Focal (although the cynical among us would say that Naim was bought by Focal as the new company is called Focal & Co.). You can read a couple of blurbs on how the merger will benefit both, blah, blah, blah. It will be interesting to see what effect this will have on future product development, manufacturing, etc.

It is interesting to note that that the founder of Focal stated: "For future success, the key point is that there is no future for a speaker or electronic company alone." I guess that means that all the speaker companies out there should just fold up their tents right now and go home! Sorry Magnepan, Vienna Acoustics, Kudos, Vandersteen, Neat, etc., etc. your days are numbered. (Fredrik, you better come out with some speakers, quick!)

Company that makes one of the most un-musical speakers in the world buys Naim? Surprise of a season.

This information was posted on another forum, and apparently not many people are happy with the merge. Only time will tell if Naim becomes a better company or a worse company as a result of this merge.
