Got a soft spot for Carly Simon especially as The Spy Who Loved Me was the first time I saw a bond film at the cinema.

Great choice Beck - "We Have All the Time in The World" with Louis Armstrong is one of my personal favourites as well, in one of my favourite cult Bond movies. Together with "The Look of Love" by Dusty Springfield and Herb Alpert in Casino Royale from 1967 - music better than film. I believe neither of these are the formal theme in their respective movie.

So my formal votes goes to Goldfinger, Live and Let Die and Skyfall. Where I think Skyfall best captures the film's dark atmosphere.

I think it is great that this thread has proven popular. I am surprised our moderators let it run (although I did say that I had voted Carly Simon's record the best after auditioning it by the tunedem method to validate my view).

I have to correct myself. The main theme from the Bond movies is written by Monty Norman following two libel actions he has won over Barry!
