Bought K92s as a cost effective and easier to drive replacement for my aging pair of HD650s after my daughter sat on them. More info coming through and musical but need more running in I think. Bass doesn't seem as tuneful yet.

AKG’s generally need 150 hours or even more

Fredrik,

The SR125e look like a great budget buy for under £140, but how would you say they compare to the Apple plugin buds in terms of sound and musicality?
It took me a while to find an original pair of analogue Apple Earpods. More common these days are those with a lightning connector with a DAC inside (and they sound worse).

Apple Earpods are also probably the most copied headphones in the world and every copy I've heard sounds terrible. They look so alike it's serious detective work trying to tell the original from the copy - until you listen to them. Then it's obvious which is which.

Anyway, I think I found an original pair. And the Grado SR125e are much better. Both more musically nuanced and gentler on the ears.

Excellent, thank you. The 125’s are available from Amazon for £130 with 5 months interest free credit, which seems like a real bargain. I’m just about to order a pair 😁
