Is that a dog toy/chew on the floor, Spannko? If so, where (& what) is/are the 'woofer/s'?
Oh, yeah, the clips: I prefer 1 this time - feels like there's more to the guitar, and better interplay between the musicians. I agree with Charlie1 that "2 is punchier", but it just seems focused on the timing rather than the music.
Well spotted tokenbrit! We’ve got two woofers with us at the moment. Nala, a cocker spaniel and her daughter Jude, who is a 4 month old cocker/springer cross... Jude will stay with us for 12 months before going off to be trained as a police sniffer dog, whilst Nala lives with us permanently.
Re the power supplies. Who needs timing, eh? It’s so overrated!
I have a soft spot for spaniels having grown up with one, but a springer cross pup - oh my! And police sniffer dog to be? That is very cool :)
Well I do think that music needs timing but clip 2 suggests that timing doesn't need music ;)
Firstly, ref 1 vs 2, I've decided I only prefer 1 at the beginning of Hotel California. Once the band kicks in then I prefer 2. Still prefer 2 on Madonna.
3 has a different sound so I'm guess not bolt down Naim. The balance is perhaps better suited to your speakers but I still find 2 the most coherent and would be my choice. Look forward to knowing what 3 is.
I thought that 'B' sounded a little clearer than the others, but I find 'A' keeps me wanting to listen to the end, whereas my attention wanders for 'B' and 'C'.
If I had to choose between 'B' and 'C' I would choose 'C'.
I don't know if it is heaven but I would give the heAve ho to B and C. I also agree that C is the better of those two lesser pieces. Nice track and I'll take more of A please.

I've had another listen whilst relaxing in the bath which is often the best time for me. I'm jumping ship quick and going with A :)
It is a really interesting thing to experiment with lesser equipment than usually get promoted here on the forum.
The music is Lars Danielsson from the album Libera Me. The track is called Asta.
A) Has been my basis setup for a while now really enjoying it but always trying to better it step by step. Not quite as focussed in sound as I could hope for but enjoyable all the same.
B) Is an attempt to better it by further modifying the “flimsy” cd tray by simply putting a small amount of “blu tack” on the front of the tray.
It sounds clearer but ultimately it “breaks up” the feeling of musical flow among other things.
C) Is my best attempt to date to better A using some extra small dots of “blu tack” inside the tray, maybe not fully successful but very good when listening in my room. More focus in sound but slightly lacking in flow.
At present I use C but I will likely return to A to try again.
Part of what I have done to the cd tray:

Others things underneath the tray handle the slight rattle that the tray could ruin the sound with when closed.
As you can see felt has also been used.
P.S: Try downloading A and C and compare from your device directly. I think C comes out better that way.
Latest: I have reverted back to my A setup. It is mind-boggling how sensitive digital is to the smallest changes.
