what made you think it was close to beat option 1?
I think it maybe was the third clip and not the second clip (reversed polarity on the Lingo 2)

Yes, it was my first quick listen not using headphones and it was your third clip.....

Just hearing something differently and not at first hearing anything completely wrong....

the 3rd clip was pre-first as opposite to Option 1 which is Lingo2 first - I also thought pre first sounds interesting in the beginning but than I had the feeling I liked Lingo first better so I switched back - so back to option 1

Vlado: for clip two with reversed phase on Lingo 2 I think I can hear melodies break up earlier and with doing it they break the flow

Definitely option 1 for me.

Really interesting that pre first was not better. If Lingo is first in the power strip, can you tell us what follows (order and product)?

thank you all for your feedback and for reassuring me of Option1 running out of ideas

Idea:
whenever I see the cable to the radikal motor which includes the pin which connects to the motor switch I see it is clamped really heavy where the two cables split. I think putting the cable under such stress should influence the sound - has anyone tried to losen that clamp and see if it makes a difference?

I am thinking of Beck‘s experience with the power supply - my Radikal is not installed yet otherwise I would try it by myself.

just saw the question:
Lingo2 - Sagatun Stereo - Linto - Pass XA30.5

with Pre First only the first two have changed position
but only 1hour rewarming for Sagatun, Lingo2 and Pass XA after the change

This is interesting ...

P.S. As idea to try ... Linto to go on second and Sagatun Stereo on third position ... than it will be pure source first ...

Blimey, your system really throws out some deep bass. After about 30 sec I started to wonder if it was a remix. Do you have a concrete floor underneath? Very clear sound too, yet musical.

Anyway, I found it quite close but slightly prefer 1 as well.

I prefer 1 but I wasn't sure if I preferred it cos the sound is better or cos it's musically better. The other two seem quite muffled / bloated by comparison.

Hi Charlie yes I have concrete floor underneath the wood panels - and I have also made the experience that a wooden floor seems to eat up some bass energy. Actually I sometimes think my system sounds better through the recordings than it really is ;)
The difference between the two settings is about 1mm turn of the outer platter ... maybe even less.

But even though I didnt do it to confuse Beck but the former Option 1 (my reference to compare to) is now Option 2.

If you like Option 1 from the very last comparison (yesterday night) better than I dont have to redo the Pre-First try as that was done with that setting.

I actually still think Option 2 (the former Option 1) is better but not 100% sure.

And that is why we need to be as many as possible to evaluate. I can easily be wrong. :-)

yes it helps the more we are as I sometimes have the feeling it depends on which initial melody I focus first and I still can’t let go if something sounds wired-even though it might be the better tune overall.

Yes, more it is better.
My opinion is with melody ... but not what I listen initial (I do it AAB, as it is in Tune Method), but what melody it is ... with vocal - male / female or instrumental, more or less dynamical - micro / overall and other factors ... you know what I mean ...
The last one with B. Ferry is ... as example ...

I am jumping between Option 1 and 2 and still think Option 2 is better but it makes me curious if Charlie and Beck prefer the other Option

2 is a bit leading-edge, snappy for me listening on phone and again on laptop. I find it a bit too much that it distracts me from the rest of the notes, singing, & music - I prefer 1 (20:50) as it seems better balanced to these ears
