... furthermore, can the Radikal connect to a MM phono stage of a receiver.
The cartridge is a Kandid.

With Urika I you need to connect to a line input but with Urika II the conversion to digital is done in Urika and connected to a digital Exakt interface.
Urika is only for MC, there are no MM variants to be used with the Radikal PSU.

thank you TMV.
I will start over.
I have an LP12, with a Kandid and a Radikal.
No Urika.
Will the Radikal connect to the MM phono stage of a McIntosh (4100) receiver?

To elaborate - it's not about the Radikal. The Kandid is an MC cartridge and thus needs an MC phono stage.

Ok... I believe that I am wrong with my connection info.
Let me try again, please?

I wasn't sure with regards to the phono stage in the receiver.

Now I understand. Kandid is a low level MC pickup and will not work well with the MM phono stage. A transformer could be used before the MM input to get the right levels.

Why don't you just get a (second-hand) Urika 1? It would fit right in to your system. Or maybe a Lejonklou Entity MC preamp?

Yes. The Radikal is a power supply for the LP12 and does not connect to an amplifier or receiver. The Kandid is a low output MC cartridge and it will not work properly into an MM phono stage. It needs significantly more gain and different loading so plugged into the MM stage it will be weak, noisy and not properly balanced.

You can use a transformer into the MM phono stage but I am not a big fan of that setup. An Entity, which is a complete MC phono stage and would plug into a line input, would give you excellent perfromance - better than a Urika. A used Urika 1 is also good but requires fitting into the LP12 and removal of the normal arm cable. An additional and less expensive option would be a used Linn Linto which is a quite musical MC phono stage. But if you really want to hear how musical a Kandid/Ekos SE/Radikal LP12 can sound (and you don't want to spend the $42,700US for a pair of the SINGularity) you won't do better than the Entity.
