I'm not a big fan of CSN, but this first US relase of their 1977 album deserves a listen IMHO:

Cathedral - Dark Star - Just A Song Before I Go - Run From Tears ... terrific sequence

For standard jazz lovers and KJ trio fans, I suggest to have a listen of this superb record:

https://www.discogs.com/Keith-Jarrett-S ... ase/371533

The original German pressing seems a lot musical.

It depends a bit on which period of Weather Report you like, the early jazz-rock, Miles Davis influenced, or the later with Jaco Pastorius on bass. Highly regarded and easy to get into is Heavy Weather from 1977, I would go for this version: https://www.discogs.com/Weather-Report- ... ase/877385
Also recommended are their debut Weather Report, I Sing The Body Electric, Live In Tokyo, Black Market and Mysterious Traveller. I would generally go for the US-originals, not the remastered reissues, as these likely will have screwed up timing, which will make the music harder to access.

I already own in cd (ripped) almost all of the WR's album of the 1971-1981 period.

My favourite are Tale Spinnin' and Black Market though.

I also like the 1976 Jaco Pastorius album.

Got this recently:

Frankly, the more musical vinyl ever heard.

"Free" and "Jesus" are epic tracks.

Highly recommended

Have you noticed that some vinyl especially newer 180g have just a little too tight hole. The result is that push them down on place. It is then somewhat difficult to take them off.

Then you need one of these ;-) I bought the drills on Amazon and the handles come from a 3D-printer. Or you could buy them for a lot more somewhere of course...

Interesting. The RIAA dimensional standard for the center hole is 0.286" diameter, with a tolerance of +0.001", or -0.002"

7.2mm is just over 0.283", so still a tiny bit under standard... guess it's close enough for rock & roll :)

There are .286" reamers available ... at a stiff price - reamed indeed ;)

Apparently the spindle size varies on different turntables, albeit very little. I also considered the 7,3 mm variant, these two sizes are the ones I found, if you want to buy one from Clearaudio & Co.
I decided to go with the smaller 7,2 mm and it has been perfect so far for my LP12.

Do not know what pressing to go for but this band has a big place in my heart and record collection:

Would have loved to be in that control room next to them listening to the song. :-)

Yes, I used to play Nightclubbing for demo quite a bit. Definitely a good recording and interesting music.

I have presented a part of this documentary before. Here it is in full.

It makes me laugh and cry and tells a great story about how 10cc came about.

Just hearing the way Kevin says: “It’s a smash!” makes me laugh. :-)

I have a copy of this:
https://www.discogs.com/Pearl-Jam-Ten/release/1084282
and it is the dullest sounding, most lifeless pressing in my collection. I'm genuinely shocked at how much they sell for. Mine copy still has the original Tower Records price tag: $8.99

Being a Seattle native child of the '90s the possession of this album is practically mandatory, but it would be nice to have a copy I'd actually enjoy listening to. Does anyone have a pressing (perhaps the Euro/UK/Japanese versions that preceded the U.S. vinyl release and were actually mastered by Bob Ludwig) that has some life to the music?
