The 3-CD delux edition of Rumours has a great live version of 'Rhiannon' too - worth buying that alone and great for car journeys :) It's similar, although not quite as good, as the famous Rosebud performance where she has a kind of exorcism at the end, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssL9T0-oq6o
From the first comment on YouTube:
"It's a travesty that this video does not have 900 million views. This is the best performance by anyone, anywhere, ever. It's magical."

I agree - it's very special.

Here's the entire 30 min Rosebud film, including a good performance of 'Go Your Own Way':
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvjhsWuNn8A

I see there is now a SUPER delux 5-CD set of Rumours that includes the Rosebud film. Wonder if it's longer than the one on YouTube: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 ... s_sp_ps_dp

You might like 'Planets of the Universe' too, which was a Rumours demo. I really like it and it's included in the 3- and 5-CD packs. You can hear it on YouTube but is sounds pretty un-involving there.

And of course 'Silver Springs' which is now the 12th track on a Rumours CD, originally b-side to 'Go Your Own Way' but Stevie desperately wanted it to be included on the Rumours album - not sure why she couldn't have ditched one of her other tracks, like 'Gold Dust Woman'. There's also quite a nice outtake on the 3- and 5-CD pack.

Maybe the heavy abuse of drugs and alchool of the band contributed to that performance :)

I listened four times to the original 1975 LP version of Rhiannon: the Rosebud version is way better (also the guitar solo is more powerful).

Your taste in music is inspiring, Matteo. None of the snobbism that appears common among record collectors.

Chicago... I haven't listened to them in at least a decade, maybe two, and I don't own a single album. I think I might get me one this weekend!

Thanks Fredrik

The Chicago discografy is huge.

I suggest to start with Chicago VII, Chicago X, Chicago V and Chicago II (in descending order of my preference).

I agree with Fredrik's compliment. I recall the odd conversation in my youth when friends and I would try to be cool and impress one another with our music knowledge and taste. Silly really. Music is there for everyone to enjoy. It's stupid to put down someone's taste or think you are cool cos you like a particular new song or band. I think we just get older and grow up.

I to will check out Chicago as I don't have any either. I only really know their song 25 or 6 to 4, of which I like the riff, and their famous hit.

Interesting that you put Chicago II that far down the line. I honestly lost interest in them after II and had gone another way in my music listening by the time some of those later ones came out (mostly jazz for a number of years). I guess I'll have to check out a couple of the later albums. Definitely a long lived and interesting group.

I guess it is just a matter of tastes.

The V and the X (which contains the hit "If you leave me now") are similar to the II: more rock/pop oriented

I prefer the VII because the side 1 and 2 contain an original mix of jazz / fusion / funky in few long instrumental tracks.
The side 3 and 4 are more commercial.

Not my cup of tea, but it does have the great Michael McDonald on some tracks. Anyway, if you like it, you should try to get a copy of this one: https://www.discogs.com/Christopher-Cro ... e/10489332
Available from € 1,60...

That was one of my first music purchases. Bought the cassette and played it on a portable AM/FM Cassette Superscope player I had at the time before getting my first component audio system a year or so later. I have it on LP now and it is still one of my favorite records.

I appreciate the tips, Matteo!

I had a SRV period about 25 years ago. Then I went back in time, to earlier and earlier blues. And then Christer at Ljudkompaniet in Uppsala got me into country. Part of me is still stuck in the fiddle and steel guitar.

If you like SRV, I also recommend this pressing:

May you suggest a couple of vinyls for starting with country?
