On another note, am I correct in understanding that the boazu and the tundra stereo are 2 x 24w (8 ohms)
But the mono blocks are 2 x 40w (8 ohms)

In practice, Boazu, Tundra and Tundra Mono differ very little in how loud they can play.
The reason why the 8 ohm, 20-20 kHz figures differ is that they are measured with static tones and the power supplies will run out of current faster on the amps that have two channels. The difference appears in the lowest bass and brings the figure down to 24 Watts instead of 40.
When playing music, there is rarely a static 20 Hz tone that just keeps playing. Usually the note ends or it's a thud or a rumble with limited length in time. Then the difference in power is hardly noticeable.
