HAKAI for sale

Post by lejonklou »

I have two identical HAKAI for sale, with the following specification:

Case: Streacom F1C evo in black
Power supply: Streacom Nano160 160W ATX
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-N3050N-D3H
RAM: Kingston KVR16LS11/4 ValueRAM 4GB 1600MHz SO-DIMM
SSD: Intel 320 160GB
SSD Cable: Deltaco SATA-1000
Price: €350 (per HAKAI) plus shipping

The SSD can either be flashed with Volumio 2.861 from Dec 2020 or left blank, if you wish to use a different program.

To make a complete streamer, you need to add a USB DAC. ESI Gigaport eX is inexpensive and reported to work smoothly with Volumio and sound really good.

They can be used as a NAS if equipped with a storage HDD/SSD.

There is no disc reader installed, the slot is empty. So to make it able to rip CDs will require more parts and work.

Hi Fredrik,
Any particular reason you choose Volumio 2.861 over the other versions?

Thanks

I was hoping it would be most stable version.

Fredrik,
I have so far found no comments on the ESI Gigaport eX here on the forum. Do you?
Thanks

If they use the Gigaport then yes but with any other DAC the original 4.xx you recommended is fine

Is the eX suggested as a better DAC than the originally recommended HD+, or just as an available alternative?

Maybe this should be moved to its own thread under the Hakai category?

ESI claim that eX is better than HD+. Personally I doubt it, given how I found other DACs by ESI far less tuneful than Gigaport HD+.

But who knows? I haven't listened to an eX yet. And I don't know any reliable person who's made a proper comparison between HD+ and eX.
