Congrats on your Akubariks!
Any change you would part with the upgraded stands by themselves?

Hi Jon
That is certainly possible, but not before the speakers are sold. I’ll keep you posted.

Excellent. Thanks for responding so quickly. For what it’s worth I have an extra pair of the original 242 bases in silver if that could help you in anyway. May I ask your impressions of the Accu Barricks versus the 242‘s? I recently acquired my tundra mono 2s to replace a climax chakra twin non-dynamic and never thought amps can make such a musical impact. I’m hesitant to get rid of the climax control as it’s such a great piece of equipment, however I know at some point I will just have to get the Sagutun monos. Did you by chance upgrade your pre-and power at the same time or separately

Re: Linn 242s Rosenut, optionally with upgraded stands
Yes, I did upgrade the power and pre-amps separately, and you have another treat in store if/when you upgrade the Klimax Kontrol to Sagatun Monos. I didn't think it was possible to get another improvement of the same magnitude as Twin to Monos but it is (and probably not surprising as the pre-amp is more important than the power amps)
As for the Akubariks, they're probably still running in, but they sounded more "together" than the 242s right from the start. That is, the music seems to flow more naturally as a coherent whole, whereas the 242s sound somewhat disconnected across the frequency range in comparison. Not sure this makes sense, but I'm certainly very pleased with the switch. The Akubariks tease out more subtlety in how the musicians are playing.
Watch this space - the upgraded stands may become available soon.
