Hi
I have been offered a KDS/1 for sale with serial number: 1146146
I am trying to assess the authenticity of the transaction.
Does this serial number perhaps look familiar to anybody?

Phone the Linn helpline. They can check its history for you, and if its registered as stolen or anything.

Yep, or email them. I tend to do the latter just to keep a record of queries I have with them.

I was the former owner of this KDS/1 until February 2014 and can vouch for its heritage until then. Please PM if required.

If it is on Gumtree or Craigslist then it will be a scam. Price should be about £6000-£7000. If it is £2000-£4000 it is a scam.
