Linn 2250 Power Amp

Post by Sondekker »

Up for sale is my Linn 2250 power amp.

As I expect everyone will know, this was the successor to the Klout and sat at the top of Linn's range for around three years.

This one is black and in first class condition. It has worked faultlessly and never even had its lid off.

Would be supplied in its original box, with owners manual and an unused power cable.

Considered by many to sound superior and more musical than the Klout and certainly more powerful. Can also be upgraded with the dynamic power supply.

Serial no: 92098*

Looking for offers around £650 with postage at cost. These amplifiers are not too commonly available second hand.

Any questions please ask.

Linn 2250 Power Amp

In view of the total lack of interest in this power amplifier I've now decided I will keep it for the time being.

I had thought it was fairly priced but perhaps not?

I would welcome any objective feedback such that I could take that into consideration if I were to decide to list it again at some future point.

Thanks

I think it's likely nowadays that folk would be looking for a 2250 with Dynamik - it would come to over £1100 to buy your amp as it stands and then upgrade it.
I upgraded all three of mine and it made a huge difference - possibly you could consider doing the same yourself and you may then want to keep it anyway, as you'll notice a big improvement.

I agree with the above comments, but it is still a great amp, especially when a klout achieves better prices, makes it a bargain!
Perhaps £599?

It was a fair price but this forum does not have anything like the reach of ebay. It would sell instantly on ebay at £650.

True, but how much will they charge you? If buyer pays in a different currency with Paypal, the sum of all fees is substantial.

A thank you to those that have taken the time to post their comments, I have found these to be very helpful.

My main reason for wanting to sell was to help fund a valve power amp to match the valve preamp I purchased some time ago.

Based on these comments and others I have picked up from various forums I am now giving serious consideration to possibly investing in the dynamik upgrade instead.

Fredrik is spot on with his comments about ebay. I now find the combined cost of their listing fees, commission on sales and further deductions for receiving payments via Paypal to be excessive. I thought it might be good to list here on account of the high level of interest in all things Linn.

Thanks again.

John
