Linn Ekstatik moving coil cartridge:

This is the biggest Linn moving coil cartridge box I've ever had, because the Ekstatik is such a special cartridge it needs a large custom wood box to breath properly :-)

Here's another Christmas present from a Scottish relative. She knows I like really the Linn Sondek and she knows Linn is located in Glasgow as well. So as such, it's a printed cotton map of Scotland which we had professionally matted and framed, with museum grade glass. Glasgow can be seen near the lower area of the map.

Thank you for the comments, I'm glad you like the pictures. And the new Overture Audio shop does look fantastic, it's the nicest facility of all three locations. The new location is bigger with plenty of showrooms, and storage space for everything needed. Plus, it has a better floor plan with beautiful amenities as well.

Here's a fun question regarding the photo shown below. Does anybody know what's in the framed picture, which is seen near the right side of the turntable?

Great Pictures indeed. Seems like you climbing an audio Munroe. Some work Tony. Raise a glass of Islay, Slainte. And I love the map, gives me good memories of Glasgow, the western Islands like Uist, Barra, Aran, and some Munroes, like the Ben Nevis.
The picture, is it a stack of unfortunate left CD’s?

Thank you for the kind words Arjen, they're much appreciated. As it turns out, the side picture isn't a stack of unfortunate CD's (although it does look like that). Actually, two people have correctly identified and agreed the side picture is "a very macro picture of an elliptical stylus, grooving on an early 1972 Led Zeppelin l album, opening track. And it was Tpetsch that correctly identified the picture, and then Tendaberry confirmed.

Cheers

Hurray for Tpetsch then, but nothing ventured nothing gained. And after you refurbished your TT, your CD’s might unfortunate be stacked like that in the end as becoming useless for now.

Well it certainly is a photograph of an elliptical stylus in a groove. I'll leave the rest of it to the (obviously) fertile imaginations of some on the forum!

My how things have changed with my LP12, since March 27th, 2011. And although it certainly sounded good at that time, it's light years beyond that level now. And during the entire process, I have appreciated & enjoyed every step of the way too! And as turntables go, the LP12 is my favorite...

Thanks again Arjen, I will certainly play the "Keep It Simple" album by Van Morrison, and will post a recording as well. In addition, I will post comparison links of the previous cartridge & power supply, along with the current cartridge and power supply.

Here's to keeping it simple...
