Arjen’s System

Post by Arjen »

Reading Hemann’s System topic line motivated me to share this after discussing at this forum.
Not to try to cat up, it is just small steps from the start long time back, not able to upgrade or change with big steps, though trying to enhance musicality by a little tweaking now and than. And by learning from this forum.

My system.
Lenco 76/S, refurbished and upgraded and Nagaoka MP300, placed upon Soundeck dampers
Slipsik 6.1
Supernait 2, placed upon Continuo Basso Ultra Feet
Nait 05
CD 5x
Naim Flatcap and Hicap
Millon Speakers (renamed Stradivari)Phantom S
Cables upgrades partly by Audio Sensibility
the carpet is a Persian Nain

Thanks for listing and photographing your system. That is certainly a pretty cool looking Lenco. Very beautiful rug too!

Thank you Thomas and Fredrik. The wall cupboard unit a very heavy Castelijn made one, bought a 34 years back for TV and audio. The TV made its place for records cd’s, the outreaching audio shelves are still supporting the set. In the beginning apart from Lenco Technics gear, after that Denon and Marantz and since about 15 years Naim. I came across Naim passing a shopwindow of a Naim dealer in Glasgow on a Sunday year's ago and I was surprised by the cool design.so when the Marantz was dead I moved to Naim, starting with de 5 series. From the 5 to the XS with flatcap and hicap, and a year ago to the SN2. The Lenco 1972 B52 made this year its place for a Lencoheaven refurbished and upgraded seventies Lenco 76/S.
The speaker career started with self built Wharfdales, followed by Celestion and Hepta and ended up with Millons.
The Slipsik 6.1 is the last upgrade. Well, that’s my audio story so far.

Thanks for the mention Arjen. Nice system to look at. Despite being associated with Naim for so long, I am not familiar with the newer series, nor have I heard anyone of them (except the effect of a hicap, of course).

Very simple Denon M41 in my Holliday home delivers whats’s not possible at my home system, music provided by youtube via bluetooth. Now playing Gene Clark and Roger McGuinn, live at the Capitol Theatre, 030478. Lofi-ed thrilling are those two former Byrds somewhere Eight Miles High really Knocking on Heavens Door.

At home now the Slipsik 6.1 had been replaced by the 7.1 from the Forum last week. As the 6.1 it plays very well with the Lenco 76/S/Nagaoka MP300/SN3, but another league. the 6.1 is a back up for now.

Nice! But aren't they a bit tight, so that it's hard to get the records out?

Bit tight yes, but still easy enough to get them out.

Nice looking storage box. I probably could use to find something similar as I am overflowing my 5x5 Ikea unit and the 3x3 unit I have in the other room.
