Hello to all.
First post with the presentation of my Linn family


source : Akurate DS and Unidisk SC
control : Unidisk SC
playback : 2 x 6100
playback : 140 aktiv, trikan activ, kan passive
cable & IC :K400,K200 and linn blacks


The ADS is the latest addition of the family and represents a huge improvement in quality and music accesibility Vs the Unidisk.

I still use the Unidisk as a DVD player and as a pre amp, however I plan to upgrade it in the near future.



I see 3 way of doing it.

1 . Trade the Unidisk for a Kinos ( and use a Blu ray player for dvd's)
2. Trade the Unidisk for a Akurare control (and use a Blu ray player for dvd's)
3. Keep the Unidisk and buy a Kikkin (I am really tempted)

However I have an issue on how the 2 pre (Kikkin and Unidisk) could live together without changing cables all the time.

What would you guys recommend?

Sounds like a very nice system.

However I have an issue on how the 2 pre (Kikkin and Unidisk) could live together without changing cables all the time.

The practical way of doing this is to use the SC as an input switch only. Kikkin receives a fixed level signal from the SC 'TV OUT' output and then handles the volume.

Going directly from DS to Kikkin will of course bring further improvement. I would guess you only do this on special occasions.

If I follow your advise shall I invert the speaker cables anyhow?
The Kikkin will control the volume also of my A/V side or only the front speakers?

Seems I answered your question a bit too fast! I completely missed your multi channel setup.

Only the fronts will be controlled by Kikkin, which means it's only usable for the DS. You will then need to switch cables before watching a movie.
