Hi there

Thanks for accepting me on the forum. Been a Linn/Naim user for decades and also a member of other well known forums using the same nick. Always looking for new opinions and this place seems to be full of valuable information I can always use and maybe contribute with some of my own.

At the moment my system is as follows:

Fluted black LP12/Kore/Cirkus/Lingo1/majik solid base/Ekos1/Troika, Mogami T-Cable, Naim cd3.5/72K/HiCap/180, NACA5, Neat Mystiques2

Cheers,

Pedro

Welcome
Fluted black - That must look awesome !!

The original fluted afromosia plinth is a classic and so is the black ash plinth.
So you combined those.
Who made it?
Pictures would be nice :)

Welcome. We do like well sorted passive systems here so you seem to fit in perfectly. Pictures and even video clips would be more than welcome in your presentation. :-)

Kind of cool, right? :-)

Thanks for the welcome replies. I'll post a few more later on. Mind you this is actually an 87 Greaves of Sheffield afro corner braced plinth I've stained black myself ...

There's never been a better looking cartridge than Troika.

Thanks. Indeed it is.

Have you got an agent for your products in this country by any chance ?

Best,

Pedro

Here you go, as promised. These were taken before installing the Kore and the Troika just recently. I was using an Asaka and a Majik boxed sub-chassis then but all the rest is what I've got at the moment. Sorry for the poor pics quality but both the camera and the photographer suck ...

Hi kota,

nice set-up you have, welcome to the forum!
One question:
Did you compare the Kore to sub chassis from 3rd party manufacturers and if yes how would you describe the differences?
Thanks.

Matt

Thanks all :-)

No I haven't, Matt. I got the Kore from a very well known and respected UK dealer as an ex-dem item and for a reasonable price. Unfortunately I live on a limited budget and I've got to take these kind of opportunities when they arise. Also, none of the other third party alternatives are available in this country so I had to take the chance.

The good news is that I'm extremely happy with the Kore. Probably the best single upgrade I ever made on this particular LP12 :-)

Cheers,

Pedro

I was kindly reminded when I first started posting here on this forum that shortening the mounting screws for the cartridge will give better sound because of less weight being moved. I did it and it worked. Just passing the advice on to you! :-)

Thanks for that. These are the stock hex stainless steel bolts that came with the Troika. If I remember correctly, these are the absolute minimum height original ones that can be used with this cartridge , but I could be wrong of course ...

Yes, you have to DIY. I carefully used a pincer and polished the rest down to the mark. Mark the screws before you remove them and remember to remove the Ekos from the Sondek before you do anything.
