I just got it on cd and ripped. One listen - undecided - will see if it grows on me. I was working on my network at the time but it never did reach out and grab my attention.

Ok thanks. I did read an encouraging review and agreed about what they said about previous u2 albums, hence my renewed interest.

Got any Ryan Adams you can recommend? Really like 'easy tiger' but don't know where yo go next with his stuff.

Cheers Vic! I might buy it on CD and play it in the car in that case :shock: Also, it's a double LP and I find them a pain, changing sides every 10 minutes or so.

I only knew that Cohen was Canadian and have most of his albums. It was interesting to find out that they were all from Canada. But listening to Blue with Joni Mitchell you can hear it if you listen to the lyrics I Need a River to Skate on and A Case of You.

Bruce Cockburn 'In The Falling Dark' (1976).



This is one of my favourite artists, it's something about the tone he strikes that feels right to me. I've seen him once in concert and it was absolutely fantastic. Tried desperately to get an interview with him, and as I was able to get an article published in a magazine I thought it would be easy. But his manager-on-the-road refused to let me near him. There was almost no coverage in the press...

His records and songs aren't all great. But some of them are and currently, this album is my favourite.

Tempted to try the Fleet Foxes too, after seeing them on the BBC a couple of weeks ago (Glastonbury?)

Not listening to anything at the moment - my KDS went back to the factory yesterday for its Dynamik. Our Unidisk 1.1 lasted for 3 tracks before we switched it off!

I quite enjoyed being without music recently - at least for a couple of weeks. Caught up on some reading instead. But then began to really miss it. Presume your Dynamik won't take too long though. Hope to hear what you think of it.

The Milcho Leviev Quartet - Blues for the Fisherman

Although I am still having some slight doubts about my Radikalised LP12, it sometimes sounds just unbelievably good (and then some records just feel mysteriously flat, hence the doubt). On this record, some passages almost knocked me out. I had to play it twice in a row!

You mentioned problems getting into jazz earlier, Charlie. Could this do anything for you?

I will try it out. I haven't looked properly enough into jazz, althouhg Leo has helped for sure. I have very much enjoyed 'Time Out' by Dave Brubeck. I need to get that Soulville LP too and have Blue Train on order as I was impressed by Blue Note pressings even if this will be a digital remaster I'm sure.

Yes, I get that unexpected flatness very occasssionally, but it comes across as just a boring song/bored musicians and presume that's just how it really is.

Dont you just hate it when the last time you played an LP the artist on the front cover looked very much your senior but now they look about 10 years younger!

Sting on the cover of 'Nothing Like the Sun'. I played Rock Steady for my daughter in an attempt to find something new for her to dance to. My collection is surely lacking in this respect.
