Just one new record played this weekend as I had much yardwork to do before the next snow.

https://www.discogs.com/Gillian-Welch-T ... e/10618983

This just came out on vinyl and was GRAMMY nominated for Best Engineered Album (Non Classical) and Best Folk Album originally on CD. However, this was an all analog recording and mastering and the pressing is really good and dead quiet. Highly recommended.

She also released Soul Journey on vinyl recently which I picked up but haven't listened to yet.

https://www.discogs.com/Gillian-Welch-S ... 7658?ev=rr

Same thing, all analog recording, mastering and pressing.

https://www.discogs.com/Duke-Ellington- ... se/6409959

Finally I pulled this one out I bought a little while back and have been listening to if again. I believe mine is the 2014 Analogue Productions repressing and it is very nice in original mono. The 15+ minute version of Mood Indigo is pretty amazing!

Great Xmas present for any fans of Springsteen and vinyl.

Their infamous European debut in '75 at Hammersmith Odean a couple of months after the release of 'Born to Run'.

Lots of expectation but they sure delivered with what is said to be one of their best performances.

Been available on CD for years but released on vinyl a couple of years ago - which I only just found out - Doh!

Good sound too, although I assume it's been digitised.

You do get 4 LPs for your 30 quid.

I really gave the new Coldplay album a chance, but it played really bad. Guess streaming is not my cup of tea?

Sorry Ron, that would have been a great app!
Anyone tested the speed check apps? How accurate are they?

@ThomasOK: Nope that played even worse!

So far in december i played 132 records, enjoying every second of it!
Today after making a wall shelf to my LP12 of stuff laying around. Musical improvement not primal goal, more an ergonomic point of view. I played a Peter Gabriel record the song “DIY” came :P

Now a few hours later it’s PJ Harvey spinning

Hi Maffe,
Where do you service Nait 1 and what interconnect (RCA to 5 DIN) you use for your Nait1???
Thanks in advance for your answer,

In my constant search for new material to listen to, I discovered these two very different albums at the same time. It still amazes me how so many musicians fail to get any attention despite their qualities:

Gov't Mule - Déjà Voodoo
The great thing about this Southern Rock outfit is that if you like it, there's a huge back catalogue to go at.
https://www.discogs.com/Govt-Mule-Déjà- ... ter/211582

Mhairi Hall Trio ‎– Cairngorm
A great fusion of Celtic and Jazz. Unfortunately this is the trio's only album.

Tidal on Hakai today, had some new musik to explore and some that I don’t have on LP
Thorbjørn Risager, thx to a forum member for bringing a record with him to the demo evening last week!
Motorpsycho, Kaos did not like them so he left the room 😂
Neil Francis, playing in Gothenburg in a few weeks
Aphex Twin, Drukqs, find the tune buried in a wall of sound and it’s a great relaxing record!

Just got two "new" records in:

Yes, they aren't new. Also they aren't new to me as I have owned both since they first came out. But I listened to both when picking out albums for the (now defunct) show and both were pretty beat. So I picked up an original, still sealed Paul Simon for $19.33 including shipping and the Moog album (claimed to be in NM condition by a reputable seller but I haven't listened yet) for $7.00 with free shipping!

Whenever I do get to do a show again the Paul Simon will come along, the Moog might not as it is pretty laid back for a show. But I might bring it anyway as it is a pretty nostalgic record.

A bit of off-topic then: Since I cannot afford, nor place two Harmonihyllan at the moment and I know that the Quadraspire Sunoko Vent wall shelf isn't the best on the market, I decided to look into what I can do to improve it at a low cost.
A friend and I tested about 10 different boards in a self-built metal frame with spikes, which were used as a support for his Solos. The boards were made from different materials and had different thicknesses. The differences were surprisingly big and most were really bad. Then we tried the shelf from the Audiotech wall shelf and that was really good.
Well, you can't buy those anymore (I needed 6 and my friend 4), so we started thinking and came upon airplane grade plywood. There's at least one very good manufacturer of audio tables, that uses a very similar shelf.
So we found a shop that sells them in various sizes and thicknesses. I use 8 mm with 16 layers of birch, they are extremely stable, yet light. Cost is about € 32,- per 50 x 50 cm shelf. I cut them to 50 x 40 cm (you have to use a very good electrical saw). So I tried one first under the LP12 and the timing was a lot better and everything just came together. Then I tried it under the ADSM and the same thing happened there. I put Oehlbach Mini Spikes (cones 11 mm) in each corner between the Quadraspire and the new shelves. Do not put them in the middle of each side, that's a lot worse.
