Gaio 2.4 is coming on nicely and combines well with the Nait and VM95ML...

Since the Lingo/Ekos/VM95ML works so well in the office with the Nait and Gaio, I thought I'd try the Valhalla/Ittok/VM95ML in the bedroom with Slipsik and LK amps. Fuller sound helps with Kans but it's maybe a bit lazy. Dunno - what do folks think? Also have a very slight feeling the Slipsik is on the edge of being too revealing of the old girl - Ekos/Lingo is defo fine.

I don't have a fav song by any means but if I had to pick a favourite minute worth of recorded music then I think this is what I'd want to listen to - sublime...

Wow!

Listening to that Pink Floyd track makes me wish I had kept at least one pair of my Kan's.

I also kept thinking "Yes kids, you do".

The Boazu is an incredible amp for only €2950!

Sounding really good, Charlie1! But tell us the truth, what are you really using? After all the Kans are very inefficient and the Boazu is low power so it can't possibly be driving them. :-)!!!

4 x 135s in a cupboard :D

Someone I shared a clip with said it sounds like the Kans are being driven properly now. Similar to when I had Majik 140s, that troublesome bass was finally controlled by the Tundra Stereo 2.5 when the more powerful Akurate amp (with Dynamik PSU) never got to grips with it.

One of my dealers has commented a couple of times that the Tundra Mono 2.2 is the only amp he has heard that really controlled a couple of his speakers.

I have a customer who used to work with the owner and I back in the early 80s. He has SARA 9s and loves them. But his Linn amps were getting old and starting to have problems. I told him about Lejonklou and he wanted to hear the Boazu. The owner informed me there would be no way he would go for it as he was a real head-banger and played quite loud! The Boazu just wouldn't be adequate.

He brought his SARA 9s into the store and we played them, including showing him how loud they would play. I even ran it into clipping a little bit so he could hear how loud it was and what it sounded like. He fell in love and said it was plenty loud enough. I agreed that it played as loud in one of our medium size listening rooms (13.5 x 21.5 feet, about 9 feet tall) as I would want to play. He has owned the combo for a few years and is still in love with it. So I'd give it a shot.

It's a keeper! Although I'm sure Spannko wants it back.

Well, I suppose I have to think about booking a courier to ship the Boazu back to Spannko :(

Weird to have an upgrade and then ... not.

Anyway, here are some tracks...

Encore!

For me, the 1959 Decca recording is what all this hifi malarkey is all about! Bringing the energy and emotion of a full orchestra into the home is an incredibly difficult task to achieve. However, you’ve done it! Excellent!

What’s next on your hifi expedition? 😊

Sell some gear, buy some (Lejonklou) gear basically :)

Think I'll finally let the 12/BD160 go. Also got a 42 being serviced and I'll either keep that or the 32.5 to use with a 110. Won't sell them and the Nait unless I have to. Also have an original Archidee table to sell plus various bits 'n bobs.

The black Adikt deck is being fitted with another AT ML cart.

I'm also getting a pair of Kans refurbished with new Hiquphon tweeters and service of the crossover. Hopefully the B110 units are good.

But otherwise that's it at the moment.

I sold the Sara 9s yesterday - preferred the Kans as you know.

I’ve never thought about getting Kans refurbished. Good idea though. Who’s doing the refurb?
