Are you still positioning them, and this is an 'early' clip, or are they 'set'? They do sound better - worry what the difference is between the (4?) pairs - but the bass seems a bit offset from the rest of the music; same time but on a slightly different beat... it may be the song, the recording, or something else - not sure whether that would change any if repositioned. Musically upbeat though :)

I did set them but having listened to the clips whilst relaxing I think I've taken a wrong turn so your ears are on it as usual tokenbrit

(Haven't listened yet, but will...) How recent is the soldering to the new woofers?

No new woofers here, just another pair of 109s.

The 109 mod is ref the position of the foam at the back of the port

Ahh, there's a 109 mod thread that involves new SEAS woofers... had me confused; doesn't take much ;) Never mind; as you were :)

I envy you, Kalle!

Listening to ‘Avalon’ for the first time, yes please I’d really like that.

I agree, at first listen the first clip started off great -really great- and then lost the tune when the band kicked in, second clip continues to hold it all together although with slightly less of that 80's glitter, give me the first clip sound with the overall tunefulness of the second..

Yes, on Espeks in our previous apartment. To my surprise I found it simply better on Mid than on Treble.

All other times I’ve compared the inputs on single wired passive loudspeakers (including the unmusical diagonal connection recommended by Linn), treble has always been the best.

Will listen to the clips later!
Thats my experience to.
Not only that , but ( as you know ) the best and most musical poweramp in an active setup always sounds better If its driving the tweeter. And the tweeter amplifier sounds better If its plugged nearest the wall socket If using power strips,, where the other two poweramplifiers ( If its a threeway active speaker ) on the same three way powerstrip has the midamplifier on the second and the bass amplifier on the third.
