Optimal torque setting for klimax 345 sub drivers

Post by artikulate »

Hi all,

Can anyone suggest the optimal torque setting for my klimax 345 sub driver screws or at least a good starting point? Thank you!

Hi Ron!

I would start just below 1 Nm and gradually increase. Most sub drivers end up between 1 and 1.5 Nm, a few above 1.5.

When you're happy, please tell us what you found!

I agree. I haven't done that many subs but I found a Sizmik 10 to be best a little above 1Nm and my REL best right around 1.3Nm. Overall I would say pretty much all woofers I have adjusted have been between 1 and 1.5Nm although you could try starting a little below 1, maybe .8Nm just to make sure you cover for variance in torque drivers.

Hi going back to this thread, the recommended torque on the k350 bass units is 3.7 Nm , this is obviously a lot higher than suggested here.....
any thoughts.

Whose recommendation, Anthony?

If it's the manufacturer's, it's most likely not related to what sounds best but rather what value to use in production. One month later it's a third or less, due to the wood compressing.

Hi Fredrik

Linn's recommendation, so assumming they have been tight, 3.7Nm sounds a lot!

Hi guys,

After some experimentation I have that about 1.2 Nm sounded best on klimax 345 sub driver.
