Which side of the belt for the LP12 should be on the outside

Post by Robert Lake »

I am just about to change the belt on my LP1e, but which side is which? The belt for the LP12 has two sides, one is smoother, and the other not so smooth.Which side side should be turned outside?

My Linn technician has a nail in the wall, and he hangs the belt from the nail (both ways). The belt will hang longer from one of the sides. It's the longer length that sounds better. And apparently, the belt can be turned upside down to see which direction sounds better also. Perhaps this process can be explained better by Thomas :!:
