Hi
I found different answers to my question via google.
So - anyone here who knows for sure: can I use the balanced and unbalanced outputs of the Klimax Kontrol (first series) at the same time?
If the outputs are "buffered" by separate output stages, then "yes", but: are they, or are they not independetly buffered?
Linn Klimax Kontrol: are the balanced/unbalanced outputs independent?

Re: Linn Klimax Kontrol: are the balanced/unbalanced outputs independent?
Yes, they are independently buffered according to the circuit diagram I have studied.

Yes, you can use them both at the same time. We have done so a number of times.

You can't use them at the same time in the context of an active system or bi-amping, if that's what you were thinking of doing.
They have different gain levels so they can't be used in this way. Fine if you want to feed amps in different rooms of course.

... Or an headphones amplifier

@sunbeamgls
thanks for pointing that out!
The plan was to feed Akurate subs (got two, one for each channel) via the unbalanced and Klimax 320a via the balanced outputs. I‘d prefer to avoid going unbalanced to the subs and via adapter from their outputs to the Klimaxes - direct connection from the pre to the 320a would be my priority.
As for levels: couldn‘t I correct this via the level settings in the subs and if so, using what dB-setting?

Re: Linn Klimax Kontrol: are the balanced/unbalanced outputs independent?
Yes. You would need to balance the volume on the subs anyway.
So just go ahead with your set up setting the sub volume levels by ear.
Enjoy.

Thank you very much for your quick reply and for confirming, that my plan will actually work!
I’m very excited, because the 320a will arrive tomorrow and replace my KlimaxTwin/Akurate 212 combo...
