Can a 4100 amp be damaged if i only use 2 of the channels ?
Want to try single wire with my speakers.

No, it will only sound better the fewer channels you use.

I would recommend comparing the channels against one another, to find which two perform the best.

Thank´s for a very quick answer, i will try tonight to singlewire my Katan speakers,
but it will be 56w/channel i 8ohm and that maybe is not enough,
i suspect it will be much less bas response.

I switched a C6100 to single wire with Espeks and did not experience any significant loss of bass.

It's enough with 5 W to make your Katans play quite loud. The bass response is in no way related to how many watts your amp has, that is all nonsense driven by those who want to sell you more watts.

Your right, i switched to singlewire and it is better, the timing is much better, it felt before that i had tweteers and woofers, now i have speakers 😀

Great!

Your description of the difference is spot on.

Congratulations, you have found what many people before you have, that single amp/single wire is more musical. Note also that bi-amping does not get you more power, you still have the same amount of power going to the woofer either way, the two channels are not additive. So there will be no real difference in attainable loudness level or bass output. Enjoy!

I am now wondering why i haven’t tried this before, this must be the cheepest upgrade that exists, i downgraded my amp from 4 channels to 2 channels. It is never to late to learn something new in the ”music listening” area.

Compare the channels! Just move one at a time and decide whether it's better or worse.

Better? Stay and move the other channel.
Worse? Switch back and then move the other channel.

Definitely. The four channels will sound different so pick the best two.

I went through the same learning process with the same results:
Bi-amp to 2-channel: better
Bi-wire to single: better again
Best 2 channels: as good as it was going to get with my 4200

Of course there was a next step: 2 channels of Lejonklou amplification ;)

Enjoy the 'free' gains of an improved/simplified configuration of your 4100, Kalle05. And do consider listening to a Tundra in place of the 4100 if you get the opportunity :)

I think Tundra would be a great upgrade, i have never heard any of Lejonklou amplifiers but i still believe that it would be a big upgrade from the 4100.

I compared Unidisk SC pre+C6100 Vs Arcam Avr300 pre + C6100 Vs Arcam Avr300 integrated Vs Lejonklou Boazu

This was not a rigorous tunedem comparison as it was done over a few weeks.

However, the results to my ears were unambiguous.

The Boazu is in a different league. It wins on all counts: enjoyment, ease of following the tune, revealing, bass.

Between the others, the C6100 is a bit better than the power stage of the Arcam, and the Unidisk SC pre was a bit worse than the Arcam pre.

I'd have no hesitation recommending the Boazu and by implication the amps from which it derives.

I have read about the Boazu, it has got very good reviews, it would be interesting to compare to my 4100,
i would believe that after that comparing i would sell the 4100 and buy a Boazu :-)

Fredrik could send me a Boazu so i could do the comparison :-)

I must say that it was quite surprising that you are willing to send me (a total stranger) a Boazu for testing,
but that says a lot about you, you are truly "in it for the music" :-)
I have sent you a PM with my name and adress.
