On Component Power Supply Interactions

Here’s a spectrogram of a typical SMPS taken on the power grid side of a power strip.

This is what happens when several power supplies are plugged into one power strip:

It appears as though multiple power supplies interact with one another in unpredictable ways and I can imagine some power supplies working in a complementary way, and some not working together so well. Could this be one of the factors which affects successful system matching? And if so, is this a good reason for components with power supplies being designed to work as part of a “closed system” from the outset?
