Can you give me a quick top 5 of your west coast best? Always on the prowl for things I dont know much about. Ta
It´s hard to quickly come up with "west coast best" records, i am at work now and searched the internet for help :-)
Airplay 1980 (if you buy one west coast album, buy this one)
Mr. Mister – Go On ... 1987
Jay Graydon ”Airplay for the planet” 1993 (not "real" west coast, but close enough)
Bill LaBounty – The Right Direction 1991
Michael McDonald – If That's What It Takes 1982

A West Coast list without Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, CSN&Y and Warren Zevon?? Just a bit surprised, but then again everyone knows them...

This reply definitely got my attention. I own albums by all the groups you mention as well as The Birds and The Beach Boys that would seem to me to belong in there. But I don't own any of the albums Kalle05 listed. Then again his albums are all from the 80s and 90s, mine are mostly from the 60s and 70s. Might we be of different generations?
By the way, I did receive the two Sinatra albums you listed earlier but haven't had a chance to play them yet. I found a sealed original Sinatra and Company for $15 shipped and the original pressing of Sinatra and Jobim listed as "unplayed store copy", which it appears to be, for $19.99 shipped. So I'm pretty happy!

Discodave asked me to give a quick top five and that is what i gave him 😀. I don’t really care about Joni Mitchell or Fleetwood Mac, not my cup of tea.

This record creeps into your psyche. From the home of Portishead I believe.

If you look up a musician and producer named Jay Graydon and buy records he has performed on and produced then you know what kind of music i like.

I'm a massive Bruce fan so I'm a tad biased but it is a lovely album, as was Western Stars. For me a real late era purple patch. The more objective listener may find it a bit on the nose, cheesy at times but if you're a fan and are already invested in the history of the band it is a wonderful gift.

I ordered it through HHV, but maybe amazon.com is cheaper?

I think you either love or hate the ageing Bob Dylan. I love him.
Great songs, great band, great recording.
I like coloured vinyl, though I'm not sure who picked this particular shade of yellow ;)
