Wonder if it took them time to test the Khan for themselves, research their own machined top plate before coming up with that response, or they were otherwise busy with upgrades & offerings such as Kandid, Kore, & 40th anniversary editions, etc... I think it is likely that they have tried a machined top plate quite some time ago - likely around the time the designed the Keel. I also think it is likely they had a listen to the Khan soon after all the hubbub started about it.
It just appears to me that Linn prefers not to comment on the performance of other companies products and would prefer that you "Just Listen". I think that it was the continuing barrage of questions from people as to when they were going to come out with their own new machined top plate that finally drove them to feel the necessity to comment. IMHO sometimes they would be better off if they weren't so reticent about these types of comments.
