Are there any reasonably musical speaker cables that could be run under the edge of a carpet.

My K400s are way to bulky , and I’m not keen to below the floorboards for these locations.

I see your problem, K400 is huge, but you can lay K-20 pretty flat, I'm personally very fond of K20 very nutral and tuneful and I personally always preferred it to the touching and twisted pairs of the 400/600 series anyway.
