Would be great if they indicated what timezone the event will be held considering customers spread out in the world.

Does anyone have a clue what i is? It seem to be some kind of upgrade of streaming. I wonder if it might be a new streaming service or hardware upgrade of their streamers. The latter seems unlikely since Linn made a major upgrade with Katalyst.

I think of Linns own streaming service - they are a content producer too so that might be the topic. But I don’t know would that be another revolution of streaming?
maybe its streaming directly to your brain in partnership with the Elon Musk chip

Apparently it's on Stereophile although I can't find anything - new $40k streamer with Organik DAC.

Over at Wigwam, someone sniffed out that Linn recently registered the trademark "Organik DAC Architecture"
https://old.ipo.gov.uk/t-tmj/tm-journal ... 40037.html, which I guess points towards a Katalyst successor.

Though unless it is something truly extraordinary, it's hard to see how it calls for the extreme hyperbole of the marketing email.

I was half expecting a MQA competitor. An open format that could somehow(*) reduce the limitations that plague digital audio. That could have been a "game changing product" that might "change the face of streaming".

(*) I dunno... magik?

I think they will launch a new DAC architecture.

Seems likely that its a Klimax+ streamer in Exakt, Stereo and Surround versions - not sure if a replacement or a new uber range, given the substantial hike in price level.
New box too, but perhaps the old stuff will accept the new boards.
A big shiny knob on the top?
Probably upgrades to Exaktboxes, older DSMs (maybe) and speakers later.

New Klimax DSM with Linn's new Organic DAC.
A top mounted dial also on Klimax.
Three versions for different purposes. Music, Hub, AV.
Later this year available as upgrades to current Klimax series.

An ADC would be a good idea, but might be at the end of the timeline, given how recent Urika II is.

If it's Linn it would have to be an Organik DAC.
But my NDA says I can't really speckulate. ;-)

It'll be interesting to see if Linn keep the Katalyst Klimax.

£40k !!!???.That is a lot of money .

I'm guessing sales aren't what they want with the KK so they are going for the Kontrast effeKt .I used to do it in my shop back in the day 😁

This makes a server like a Taiko Extreme appear like a bargain, considering that a DAC is lower in the Source First hierarchy than a server.

yes Matthias - that is a little bit along the line I am thinking ... as long as they push the next cow through the village and make it all about a new DAC it will be certainly not something which I expect will be a breakthrough for digital.

Btw AKM has now split of Digtal Filtering and Delta Sigma modulation from the DAC which goes along with what LINN does in the Katalyst and former versions anyway - anly using parts of the functionality provided by the DAC. So AKM has now a DAC which only does DA conversion (AKM 4498 and 4499)

Linn should push an “organik” setup scheme for digital hifi instead! :-)

According to Stereophile an engineer will build the streamers from start to finish at the Klimax level. Sounds like Lejonklou :)
