Hmm, no replies. Does that mean people are struggling to hear a difference?

Marginal preference for B here, but it wasn't a compelling difference for me... They're close enough that an in-home trial period of both is required, I reckon, but I'd choose on content & price/convenience before any perceived (imagined?) difference in musicality based on this comparison 8)

I find B more musical than A. The difference isn't huge but big enough I'd spend my money on B (except that I hate paying for subscriptions so I wouldn't spend money on either).

I can’t hear differences

Jazz is easier to reproduce.

May you add 2 clips with pop or rock?

I think it is unreliable to develop firm opinions about streaming.

My experience is that they all vary from time to time, dependent upon the source material on their hard disks and network noise and traffic (which will vary). Possibly one's own equipment will process it differently at different times, depending on mains noise and network activity locally.

I have never, to my own satisfaction got to the bottom of audio watermarking - the extent of its use and effect. But it cannot be a good thing. And may vary from recording to recording and streaming house to streaming house.

I prefer Qobuz. Sometimes it will sound better than my own CD ripped to hard disk, sometimes not.

Source material is definitely the most important thing both with digital and vinyl - as the saying in the UK goes ‘ you can’t sew a silk purse from a sows ear’

The digital network is a nightmare to optimise compared to analogue but when sorted, can sound sublime and very enjoyable.

I find my system is very consistent now, but has sounded unacceptably bad with wireless airplay, Ethernet over mains, non recommended network switches and my back up Nas drive, which I have long since given up with.

Normal Redbook CD albums are disappearing from Tidal. What remains are "MQA" 44.1 (16 bit) albums.

Very sad.

Yep. Happy enough here with my streaming service of choice but that turn by Tidal removes them from (future) consideration. Tidal's gone out... (Wav goodbye)

To update. I have just started a trial of Qobuz and after only 2 days I'm very disappointed. Many of the artists I search for are not there, even more so then Tidal, and also many have a very limited selection of albums.

I also find the search facility limited. If I want to look for progressive rock, all I can look within is 'Rock/Pop' which is a massive area, so I have to know the names of the bands before I search. Similarly with Celtic Folk if I search for Celtic, I can only get artists with Celtic in the name, which is often a compilation, and even more common is not Celtic at all.

If there is a better way of searching, it is well hidden. Maybe I'm just unlucky in liking 2 quite different styles that are not 'in'.

Marvin Gaye's Inner City Blues as streamed via Qobuz, Tidal and Spotify.
All were streamed using Linn Kazoo. Qobuz and Tidal are 44/16. Spotify 320kbs.
1st time making recordings so apologies.

This is a bit too cumbersome for me to work with. Files are too big and unfriendly to work with. Sorry.

I will not decide for you but can you just make a short video like most on the playground and put it in a free dropbox account?
They can easily be played from the link and are also easy to download if needed...........

One more thing: please use an Apple Product like an iphone or ipad to make the video recording! Apple has the ability to make so much more sense of the music.
