Yes, the second time was more of a joke. :-)

Though I do not like the term “better”. I prefer people to just write the letter on the clip they “enjoy” the most.

Thank you for now. Goodnight!

Yes, now I know what blind tests are useful for. :-)

The last set of clips (C and D) showed split opinion about which was most musical. I will then try both setups again for a while and return with my answer (what I enjoy the most).

You can post clips of two setups blind an get the public vote. Consensus or split voting is what to look out for.

Great session Beck ,but I think in this lord of the flies type environment ,we should just title our clips A and B, B being normal setup and A being something changed in a peculiar way to sound more impressive but less musical....That way we can weed out the A types once and for all !!!

To answer the C versus D dilemma: When listening to C I get an emotional contact with the music. When listening to D i notice the clear cut sound.

Yes, I did see that. I had to be careful myself as when I put up my first choice I edited it to say something along the line of "that was simple" and then realized it was a comment so edited it to delete it.

I did realize it was somewhat of a joke, and my reply was in the same spirit. But I also wanted to point out that it was a bit much to tell someone you weren't allowed to say which is better when along with the clips beck stated "Which clip makes the music most enjoyable" I'm afraid I would have to equate more enjoyable to better. ;-)

I don’t know how this would work out, but what about setting up a vote for either A or B, so the “silent majority” can participate easily and anonymously?

Good thinking Spannko. Is it easy to set up as a normal member of this forum or do you need Lejonklou to set it up?

The other possibility is to pm directly to the one that has posted the clips and then write on the thread that a vote has been given.

Now an impossible blind test (maybe). Hard but unfair. Just give me your bid in this thread like with the previous blind tests. Rank the clips from best to worst. Remember the three dots in the top right corner that makes it possible to download the clips for ease when comparing. Enjoy. :-)

Same as Paul for me - 1,3,2 and I didn't know how people had voted until I'd already decided.

People can still vote after my explanation.

It is a simple test that shows the differences between normal play (1), program play (2) and shuffle play (3) on my NAD 542 cd player.

Small differences but when listening in my room these differences are actually rather important for my enjoyment of the music.

More about this tomorrow. :-)

Thank you for listening and answering.

Most answers hit what I also prefer in the room. 1 is my preferred way of listening. 3 I can stand listenIng to despite being a little muddled but 2 annoys me. It is as if 2 is very close to what I want but not quite there.

I know from other answers that FairPlayMotty has a slightly different opinion than mine. He can comment himself about his choices.

As mentioned many times on this forum using Apple seems to be the way to understand each other the best.

I think PaulC uses an ipad pro but he can tell us later.

Once again thank you all for playing along.

No more blind tests from me now. I think we can conclude that clips can be useful when used with care and attention to detail.

Anyone can try this out. It is not complicated.

Enjoy the music! :-)
