Just catching up on this one. My preferred choice is to buy cheap CDs off Music Magpie or (not as often now) off Amazon. Most have cost me £1.50 each, though I am running out of options now as most of the cheap stuff is mainstream pop or stuff that was never much good in the first place.
Now we have had numerous changes over the years: vinyl > Cassette tape > CD > streaming, so the status quo never remains the same. So what happens when there is a change of fashion, one or more of the streaming services go bust or move on to the next easy money business or something else? I don't fancy ending up in the position of having paid an average £200 a year for goodness knows how many years only to end up with no music, because something we haven't even yet considered comes along?
