Where to go from here... a dangerous question to ask!!
Hi All,
Hope everyone is well and coping as best possible in these difficult times.
With all this time to sit and stare at my system of course the thought of what the upgrade plan ought to be, so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts/ideas.
The system as it currently stands;
LP12 (Circus/Kore/Lingo 1/(New) Majik Arm/AT OC9XEN cartridge)
ADSM/3 (Katalyst)
3 x LK140 with Aktiv Cards
Ninkas
I'm already resigned to a phono stage in the short term and I'd likely be daft not to have an Entity is high on the list of options.
Then enemy view its Amps then speakers (eventually)... but what route to take. The Ninkas are really pretty good active, and not sure I can sensibly go to a 4200 and a 2200 at the minute really... so what other directions might one take?
Incidentally one of my LKs has started buzzing quietly, expect whatever that is will need dealing with in the short term. Any recommendations (UK Midlands)?
Cheers
JB

Karousel dem would be first for me.
What's your budget anyway?
Darren at Class A in Sheffield is an authorised Linn servicing agent and can service Klouts using Linn supplied parts so he might be able to sort out your 140.

Get a karousel and go passive with a tundra power amp.
Re: Where to go from here... a dangerous question to ask!!
For better music playback you could skip the phono stage (for now:) and buy a Karousel instead and then sell the amps and buy a Tundra. Better motor control is also a good option.

Karousel and current spec Tundra stereo amp is what I would do. You could be very surprised how good that would sound.

Personally, I would also add an analogue pre

If you are mainly vinyl - upgrade your turntable. Karousel if you prefer it to Cirkus ( mixed views on Forum here) and consider Lingo 4 / Radikal power supply, and Entity phonostage.
If you are happy with your turntable and mainly listen to digital - think about switching to passive amplification ( Tundra or even Boazu) , optimise interconnects and speaker cables and my suggestion would be to look at used Linn 242s once amplification and cables are done, and funds are available .This is what I did from active LK 140/ Ninkas and it is a huge upgrade when the source and system installation is good.
Also make try and optimise The digital feed to your Ads/3 with the best NAS / streaming service you can find -this makes a huge difference to digital.

Re: Where to go from here... a dangerous question to ask!!
Seems the recurring theme here is revert to passive with a Tundra Amp... looks like I'm going to have to see if I can try one out if nothing else. Expect at that point my 3 pairs of K20 really ought to be changed for 1 pair of K200s...
See I knew this was a dangerous question to ask :-)
