Heard the Karousel for the 1st time this morning. Set up by ThomasOK. Not musical.

Advice to Linn. Please go back to the Cirkus and re-engineer a Cirkus bearing to mimic the origins of the LP12 sound. You have two markets. The original musicality market and the later Linn market. Provide a new bearing choice please. I desire the original Linn sound. You can do this Linn!

The deck has now been fitted with a black liner bearing and serviced Lingo 1 which I'm really enjoying a lot.
My friend and me had the same experience, we both have 80s/early 90s systems like you -black liner bearing, recapped Lingo I, Ekos I & newly rebuilt Troika by Goldring- and we did not have a positive Karousel experience. ...We even makeshift mounted the Karousel bearing into the pre-Cirkus subchassis -we absolutely had to try this- thinking that would be the trick, and while it may have been slightly more in tune it was still disappointing and all was reverted back and joy restored.

It seems the Karousel bearing is designed more for aluminium sub chasis. For me, Karousel bearing with Kore is an improvement on the previous Cirkus bearing. But I have kept my Cirkus bearing in case Karousel deteriorates over time...

But at least you gave it a go and can now relax and enjoy what you have.

I get into the music much easier with A. Listening to B seems “cold” to me when comparing it to A.

I tried not to make a snap decision: B raised my temperature more than A, which just didn't click for me... Actually it clicked a bit too much pushing the percussion forward, losing touch with the voice a little. I usually hear clips differently to beck and Charlie1 - not deliberately - so this result is to B expected.

What became of the JBL speakers Thomas? The thread on the JBLs is humorous. Did anyone other than Mattias and Music Lover keep them?

A for me. Sound much more natural and engaging than B.

A for me! B is good but something sounds not totally correct in comparison.

Great music! Both are really engaging to my ears - I didn't want it to end.

'A' sounds a bit clearer but I would not choose one over the other.

A for me - big difference.

B does not sound good to my ears at all.

For me, "A" has a better bass (more in tune).

Leo, you dumb, dumb! ;-)

It is Karousel all the time. He is testing original Linn silvers against the new Linn silvers!

Actually I do not know. I am only guessing.........

I prefer A.
One question, what’s the flashing thing in the right esl57? More prominent in clip A then B

It is the movement of the speaker panels you can detect through flashing light!
