As an example this despite the musical presentation does not do it for me:

It does not give me the sound I want. The instruments lack a believable presence to me.
Agree,
but it can be done using some care even with a MacBook playing from Spotify or Qobuz and a simple DAC.

....or to choose an analog approach listen to this comparison.

I would pick the Shure because of it’s more believable presence. Just my personal preference.
Not sure you can make a judgment on that youtube clip with no point of reference Beck.

I've experienced believable physical experiences with my setup but it wasnt in the room, the live broadcast(acoustic guitar) on the left channel sounded as if it was in my speaker with the Kremlin, does that count?
I know that tune

Lego,
it is interesting to listen to a youtube clip and to the same track played from Spotify, both on MBP with HP, switching between both.

Matt,

Why bother when two very trustworthy members of this forum have heard the Linn streamer and written pretty glowing reviews of it? A YouTube recording can be of dubious quality (at best). I trust the reviews of Teatime and David Neel.

You can buy a Tinkerboard S second hand for very little outlay and experience digital audio at very little cost. I read the negative comments on here about digital audio and shake my head.
Everything is a remix: Copy, Transform, Combine.

I respect both members highly but trust preferably my own ears. Surely the Linn is a fine streamer at a high price. However, most certainly we get this year the same thrill at a much lower price point.

I agree completely with you about the quality of digital audio.

Welcome beck :-)
BITW, I just compared some tracks from the Sound Liaison label on Youtube and Spotify,
Spotify is more musical and also better sounding.
Sorry for the OT posts.
