Linn Tukan - Single Wire W/O Link Plates?
I recently dug my old Linn Tukans out of retirement while my 109s are in the shop, and I noticed that I no longer have the linking plates that came with them. I need to single wire the Tukans, and wondered if there is a simple way to do this without the Linn linking plates that connect the respective negative and positive sockets. Many thanks.

I used to have a set of home made links utilising the RS stackable 4mm plug.

Use two pairs per channel at the speaker end, with a short length of speaker cable between the two. The top of one of the plugs is a female 4mm to which you can plug in your normal speaker cable.
It Looked something like this.

Hope that helps.

If you want a very simple solution, you could undo the screw on caps, make a link with some wire and then clamp the wire to the cabinet with the screw on cap. It’ll work (I’ve done it with Keilidhs), but I’ve not had chance to do a comparison with the original linking plates so I couldn’t guarantee the quality of the result.

Thanks. Will give it a try. I assume simple bare copper wire would do the trick?

Well, that worked - thanks. I forgot how good those Tukans are. They really punch above their weight. They don’t quite have the relaxed smoothness of the 109s, but they are enjoyable.
