The choice of speakers could influence your choice of amplifier, as you need a certain number of channels to go aktiv.
Two-channel speakers like Katan and Ninka can be made aktiv with only one 5125, which is a very cost effective solution given today's second hand prices. The latest Majik amps have up to six channels in one box, so they can drive a pair of Ninkas aktiv 3-way (one channel for each of the six drive units), a pair of Espeks or the new stand mounts Majik 109.
The Akurate speakers will require more boxes to go aktiv.
Lots of options, really. I think you'll have to listen to some speakers and see which ones you like. The choice of loudspeaker is often more personal than with other components in the system, because they both look and sound quite different from one another.
