I have been restoring old Linn cd players and thought Id share my findings for the old school guys

Got hold of a unidisc sc and ikemi and restored the lot- with electrolytics I liked best as well as with new lasers of course

Having 2 machines "as new" I believe the concept of tune dem became more accurately integrated. Proceeded to play both cd players thriugh the unidiscs pre. Interesting outcome, through comparing the same cd track, holding all constant except the cd player itself, I found the ikemi to be the winnner. The SC is very tonally balanced, but the overall image disappears somewhat. The SC was still very good. I refer to the ikemi as the "gentle lady" because her reproduction of music was more refined and warm.
