Hi folks!

I'm thinking about an upgrade and would love to hear some opinions before I start the auditioning. I currently run Majik DS-I-Majik C5100-Aktiv Katans. I was thinking of either going:
- Klimax DSM-Majik C5100-Aktiv Katans route (source first)
or
- Majik DS-Exakt Akudoriks

I'm looking for second hand stuff, so price-wise this should be around equal.

Which one do you think would be preferred? Or maybe there are other possible routes worth considering?

If you follow option 1 consider replacing the Majik 5100 with a Tundra passive

That's an interesting one. Is your option 2 the existing DS-I (and you missed out the -I bit)? If so, probably Klimax DSM purely on the source first principle but also the DS-I is a bit long in the tooth. And if you have analogue sources the Klimax will run rings around it.

There's also the Klimax Exakt DSM (or System Hub as it's now called) and Akurate Exaktbox6 option worth considering, if 1 extra box isn't a problem.

Why not toss in a Boazu and Klångedang into the mix with a KDS?
That would be a really musical setup!

A, yes, I recall listening to Klangs in Göteborg, they were mighty fine!

Tundra is a likely option as well, though Boazu less so. I would like to abstain from adding an Exaktbox at the moment.

Tundra monos and akudoriks are great combo, pretty happy with it my self ;)
The Klångedang was of interest for me they played as good if not better then the akudoriks, but with the filter box it was not an option due to space.

timster, the second option I thought was Majik DS (no I) with Exakt link to Akudoriks. But a DSM may be a sensible option as well.

I don't like to go the System Hub route because in case anything fails I'll be down in the dumps basically. With a full DSM I can replace the speakers or amps, with regular non-Exakt speakers I can replace the electronics in case anything fails. I've been recently left without the system for a longer time and it was like being stuck in Dark Ages (Silent Ages, perhaps?). Majik DS keeps the traditional outputs so if speakers fail I am still covered.

In case of total system failure the Majik DSM has it's integrated amp as well ;)
